The IDIAPJGol has added two new professionals to the PMU team: Alexandros Nikolaou and Nicola Kielland.

Alexandros Nikolaou (left) is Belgian and is the current coordinator of the PMU. A bioengineer by training, he did his PhD in immunology and pharmacology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, Belgium. In 2015 he started working at the Center de Regulació Genòmica (CRG), first 3 years as an international pre-award manager (H2020 / NIH), and then as a project manager of coordinated European projects (MycoSynVac, ORION Open Science, EASI-Genomics).

For his part, Nicola Kielland (right) is Italian and is currently an international pre-award manager at IDIAP. He has studied organic chemistry at the University of Genoa, a doctorate at the University of Barcelona (UB). After a postdoc at the ICIQ Tarragona in green chemistry, he returned to the UB, gradually moving from research to project management. From 2017 to 2020 he has been manager of European, national and regional projects at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UB (Nutrimetabolomics group, EIT-Health projects, JPI HDHL, MINECO, ISCIII, AGAUR).

With the incorporation of these two professionals to the PMU, we want to strengthen IDIAP's participation in international calls and projects. In this way, the PMU is made up of four people: Pere Monteagudo, as manager of national calls and projects; Daniela Modena, as manager of European and national projects; Nicola Kielland as international pre-award manager and Alexandros Nikolaou as coordinator.

In the coming months, they will begin visits to each of the USRs to better understand their needs, do not hesitate to contact them!
