The IDIAPJGol participates in a clinical trial that simulates pre-pandemic normality in Sitges

On the night of Thursday, May 20, a test took place on Calle Primer de Maig, known as Calle del Pecado de Sitges, in which 350 volunteers were able to enjoy a night of leisure.

The objective of the study is to obtain objective and scientific data that contribute to the reopening of the leisure sector. On the day of the study, antigen tests were performed on all volunteers, adults of legal age from the Garraf, Alt Penedès and Baix Llobregat regions and from the municipalities of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Barcelona.

A total of 5 entertainment venues participated, in a perimeter space with access control, hydroalcoholic gel and surgical masks available to attendees.

Soon, the volunteers will undergo a new antigen test that will allow assessing the safety of opening leisure areas such as Sitges.

The study has been conducted by the Sitges City Council, the Health Department and the IDIAPJGol. The Association of Nightlife Establishments of Sitges, the Catalan Federation of Nightlife Venues and the Sitges Hospitality Guild have also collaborated.
