Almost 2 out of every 10 new treatments are not going to be sought at the pharmacy

A study by the University Research Institute for Primary Care Research (IDIAP) Jordi Gol, the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD) and the Center for Biomedical Research in the Network of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP), about the non-initiation of treatment Pharmacological (IMNA), shows that 17.6% of medications that are prescribed for the first time will not be collected at the pharmacy during the first month.

Asbestos-related diseases can take up to 40 years to manifest

A study carried out by a team of Catalan researchers and financed between the Institut Universitari d'Investigació en Atenció Primària (IDIAP) Jordi Gol, the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) and the Ministry of Health Health, Social Services and Equality has investigated the pathologies that lead to illness and death due to asbestos.

A study by the Institute for Primary Care Research (IDIAP) Jordi Gol assesses the strategies for the recruitment of women with an incorrect screening of cervical cancer, in order to reduce their incidence and mortality. The study is based on the fact that in the situation of opportunistic screening organized, which is what is given in Catalonia, only 41.6% of women have a suitable cervical screening.

A new study has started with the objective to analyse which factors increase the risk of heart disease and also protection factors. The study is lead by the teams of Dr. Rafel Ramos, researcher at the Institut Universitari d'Investigació en Atenció Primària (IDIAP) Jordi Gol and the Institut d'Investigació Biomèdica de Girona Dr. Josep Trueta (IDIBGI), and Drs. Roberto Elosua and Jaume Marrugat of the Institut Hospital del Mar d’Investigacions Mèdiques (IMIM) of Barcelona.
